A year-round paid internship program that provides an opportunity for high school students to work one semester or consecutive semesters as interns in the various fields at the Department of Transportation. Students learn about the work performed at NCDOT and gain valuable exposure.
Through this continuous structured program, students will gain exposure to a variety of opportunities in professional work experience that connect classroom experiences and potential career choices within NCDOT. The High School Internship Program provides students with professional work experience that connects their classroom experiences and potential career choices.
Interns work directly with NCDOT hiring managers to customize their High School Internship experience. They will have the opportunity to participate in meetings, educational tours and other activities designed to broaden their perspective of public service and state government. There are numerous internship positions available at various NCDOT division & units located throughout North Carolina.

• Must be a currently enrolled student in a high school
• Must be at least 16 years old at the time of employment
• Minimum overall GPA of 2.3 (based on 4.0 scale)

Summer Social Justice Academy
The Summer Social Justice Academy (SSJA) is an intensive three-week paid hybrid summer experience for youth to explore how to respond to some of society’s most pressing issues. Curriculum topics include mental health, access to high-quality education, contact with the criminal justice system, and economic opportunities. Students will gather for a two-and-a-half day in-person opening ceremony and orientation, followed by two weeks of virtual content. Durham Bulls Internship in TV Broadcasting
The Durham Bulls Explorer Post 50 is a co-ed unpaid internship program that offers students, ages 14-20, a unique and invaluable opportunity to gain exceptional experience in the field of television broadcasting. Durham Bulls Explorer Post 50 is supported and sponsored by the Durham Bulls and Capitol Broadcasting Company, home of WRAL and Fox 50. Now in our 24th season of broadcasting, Post 50 provides the live broadcast of the Durham Bulls games on WRAL Sports Plus, MiLB.com as well as within the ballpark. We also provide highlights for FOX 50 and WRAL newscasts.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2022 Durham Bulls season. If you are interested in being a part of the TV Crew, please complete the 2022 Online Application. NCSU Virtual Computing Internship
The Game2Learn Lab in the Computer Science Department at NC State University is offering an unpaid virtual high school internship program this summer starting on June 21 and extending through July 30. Interns will be piloting and co-designing educational tools and software for K-12 classrooms.
The internship will start with a computing bootcamp for participants to hone their skills in advanced block-based programming environments. Interns will then be assigned to teams where they will work collaboratively to build infusing computing programs and curricular materials for 100+ middle and high school teachers across North and South Carolina.
Interns will also provide technical and programming support for teachers learning block-based programming. Additionally, high school interns will be able to attend weekly seminars on computing topics and research practices designed for our Socially Relevant Computing and Analytics Research Experience for Undergraduates (SRCA-REU).

NCSU Virtual Computing Internship
The Game2Learn Lab in the Computer Science Department at NC State University is offering an unpaid virtual high school internship program this summer starting on June 21 and extending through July 30. Interns will be piloting and co-designing educational tools and software for K-12 classrooms.
The internship will start with a computing bootcamp for participants to hone their skills in advanced block-based programming environments. Interns will then be assigned to teams where they will work collaboratively to build infusing computing programs and curricular materials for 100+ middle and high school teachers across North and South Carolina.
Interns will also provide technical and programming support for teachers learning block-based programming. Additionally, high school interns will be able to attend weekly seminars on computing topics and research practices designed for our Socially Relevant Computing and Analytics Research Experience for Undergraduates (SRCA-REU).

Overview
The Town of Wake Forest Communications Department offers voluntary internship opportunities for area high school and college students interested in enhancing their communications and marketing skills. Areas of emphasis include writing, editing, social media, advertising, networking and teamwork.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Updating our online calendars
· Submitting calendar entries on external websites such as WRAL and ABC11
· Overseeing the distribution of assorted printed materials as orders are filled and delivered
· Maintaining printed material displays in various Town facilities
· Assisting in the preparation and setup of town events
· Preparing various forms and other documents
· Writing articles for various publications
· Posting Town-sponsored events to Facebook
· Posting information on Facebook related to specific Town programs and services
· Monitoring various community Facebook pages
· Assisting with proofing and preparing social media plans
· Editing the Town’s website
· Taking photographs at Town events
· Uploading, organizing, and tagging photos on the Town’s photo software
· Other duties as assigned
